I never really knew how to put on a wash. I’m sure there are times in the past that I may have put a wash on but, it went against my grain to do it. Maybe I was being a little stereotypical and thought it was someone else’s job but when I became a stay at home dad, things had to change.
I remember Skint Mum writing me a guide (with pictures) on how to use the washing machine; details of which buttons to use, how to sort the clothes and how much washing liquid to use. Looking back now it seems silly that I knew so little – considering I now do pretty much all the washing in the house and it’s one of the easiest jobs!
Now I’am an expert washing machine operator, I like to think I know what I’m doing. I’ve read through the manual to understand the different settings and (as someone who is very conscious about how much money we spend) have also taken a key interest in how energy efficiency plays a role.
I was therefore intrigued when I was asked if I wanted to become part of the Servis blogger programme.
Although Servis have been going since 1929 things for them have changed a bit over the years:

And now this:
I suppose, like quite a few brands, things in terms of who they try to target has changed quite a bit – just like the world we live in. Now, rather than just reaching out to woman in a pinny, their products look robust and have a place in a modern family home.
I am really pleased that I get to try out a new Servis washing machine! It’s set to be delivered soon and, as clothes seem to get dirtier this time of year, with them being soaked through from the rain or covered in mud, I will definitely be putting it through it’s paces.
However, for me, it’s not just about getting things cleaned. I want to spend as little money as possible on my electric bill and Servis HydroDrive technology uses 60% less electricity than a standard A rated machine. They also use less water.
