We haven’t bought each other birthday, Christmas or Valentine gifts for the last few years now. It’s not that we don’t care for each other, we just feel there are other things that our money could be spent on. However, if we happen to come across a freebie, we will certainly get involved!
If you have limited funds this year or are just down right skint, but you still want to celebrate Valentines, what can you do?
I’ve found five easy ideas to celebrate Valentine’s for FREE!
Valentine’s Day card
You’ve got some different options:
WHSmith
If you’re with O2, open up the Priority Moments app and take advantage of the free Valentine giveaway via WHSmith. Simply open the app before shopping in store, click use now and show the code to the cashier.
Top Cashback
For this one, you will need to buy the card up front and have the cash credited back you you. It will mean you get a bigger selection of shops to choose from.
You can buy a Valentine’s Day card spending up to £3 from either Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda, WH Smith, Clinton Cards or Paperchase then claim 100% cashback. If you spend over £3 you’ll still be able to claim cashback up to a maximum of £3 and pay the difference.
You need to sign up to TopCashback.co.uk and use their app to upload a picture of the receipt. If you don’t have a smartphone to download the app, you can still take the photo and submit your receipt directly on their website.
The cashback is payable after 30 days and the offer is running for new members only for the first 5,000 people who sign up.
eCard
If you can’t get out between now and Valentine’s Day, or you don’t want to send a card in the post (stamps are pretty expensive nowadays!) why not send a free eCard instead? There are loads of designs to choose from and the card lands straight into their inbox.
Free love letter slab of chocolate
Again for those of you with an O2 sim card, open up the Priority Moments app and you can collect a free bar of chocolate in Hotel Chocolate worth a couple of quid at least!
Message in the paper
Put a free message in the paper and declare your love, to your love, and everyone in your local area.
Most of the local papers are getting involved in this FREE and heartfelt idea and you will be able to keep the paper for years to come as a keepsake.
Although the cost of the message is free, you will need to buy the paper so maybe a bit of a cheat as a freebie but it is the thought that counts.
With a quick browse of the internet, papers up and down the country are offering this for Valentine’s for free so just search for your paper to see if it’s on offer, or give them a call.
You will have to be quick as the papers go to print days before they publish so you’ll need to get in contact sharpish.
Get an app
Maybe a little risqué for some but why not download a free app to kick off the day of love? There are plenty of Kamasutra apps out there for free but most have the option for in-app purchases.
It may be a bit different but I’m sure it could fire things up for Valentine’s, or leave you blushing!!
