Nationwide has announced a fresh wave of £100 bonus payments, and it’s good news for millions of its customers. If you’ve got the right accounts, you could see an extra £100 land in your bank account this summer.

Here’s everything you need to know about who’s eligible, when the money will arrive, and how to make sure you don’t miss out.
Why is Nationwide giving out £100?
This £100 bonus is part of Nationwide’s Fairer Share scheme, which gives a chunk of the building society’s profits back to its members. In total, £400 million will be handed out to around 4 million people.

This comes off the back of a strong year for Nationwide. It made pre-tax profits of £2.3 billion, partly thanks to its recent takeover of Virgin Money. To say thank you, it’s sharing the success with customers again, just like it did with £50 thank you payments earlier this year.
When will the £100 payment arrive?
Nationwide will start paying the £100 into eligible customers’ current accounts between 18 June and 4 July 2025.
If you’re eligible, you should get an email or letter by 30 May 2025 confirming it.
Who qualifies for the £100 bonus?
You need to meet three main conditions to get the payment:
- A qualifying Nationwide current account (opened on or before 31 March 2025)
- A savings account with at least £100 in it at any point in March 2025
or
A Nationwide mortgage with at least £100 left to repay on 31 March 2025
Let’s break down what counts as a qualifying current account…
Flexone, Flexstudent or Flexgraduate
You must have either paid money in or out during March 2025 – but not if you switched to this account using the Current Account Switch Service between 1 January and 31 March 2025.
Flexaccount, Flexdirect or Flexbasic
You need to have either:
- Received at least £500 into your account (not including transfers from other Nationwide accounts) and made at least two payments out in two of the three months: January, February or March 2025
or - Made at least ten payments out in that same three-month window
Again, you won’t qualify if you switched using the Current Account Switch Service between January and March 2025.
Flexplus
Simple one – just pay the monthly account fee.
Keep an eye out for bank switching offers to cash in on free money and potentially get deals like this in the future.
How will I know if I’m getting it?
Nationwide will be in touch with everyone who qualifies by 30 May. If you don’t hear anything, it likely means you don’t meet the criteria this time round.
Anything else to know?
This is now the third year running that Nationwide has given cash bonuses through its Fairer Share scheme:
- In 2023, it paid out £340 million to 3.4 million customers
- In 2024, that rose to £385 million for 3.85 million customers
- And now in 2025, it’s topping that with £400 million for 4 million members
It’s a generous move from a building society that’s still owned by its members, and a reminder that being with the right bank can actually pay off.
