If you use SMA baby formula, check this list carefully.
Nestlé has recalled several SMA infant and follow-on formula products as a precaution.

This is because they may contain a toxin that could make babies unwell.

Only specific batch codes are affected, not every SMA product.
The most important thing is to check the batch code and best before date on your pack.
Recalls like this can feel worrying, especially when it involves infant milk. This guide explains what has happened, which products are affected, and what to do next.
Full list of recalled SMA products
Only specific batch codes and best before dates are affected, not every SMA product on sale, as advised by the Food Standards Agency.
The batch code is usually printed on the base or back of the pack. If you still have the tin or bottle, it is worth checking carefully.

Why these products are being recalled
The recall is due to the possible presence of a toxin called cereulide. This toxin is not destroyed by boiling water or normal formula preparation.
If consumed, it can cause symptoms such as vomiting, nausea, and stomach cramps, often coming on quickly.
Because of this risk, the Food Standards Agency says the affected products are unsafe to use.
What parents should do now
If your product matches one of the batch codes above, do not feed it to your baby.
Stop using it immediately, even if your baby seems well.
Nestlé is offering refunds for all affected products. You can contact them with a photo of the product and batch code or by calling their careline.
Share a photo of the product and the batch code via https://www.nestle.co.uk/en-gb/getintouch or call their careline on 0800 0 81 81 80 for a refund.
If the formula was prescribed for your baby, speak to a pharmacist or medical professional before changing to a different one.
If you have already fed this product to your baby and are worried about their health, seek medical advice through your GP or NHS 111.

Skint Dad says:
When recalls involve baby milk, the first job is checking the batch code carefully.
If it matches the list, stop using it and get your refund.
You should not be out of pocket.
