Supermarket Christmas delivery tips

If you’re new to online shopping, or are a pro, and want to make sure things go as smoothly as possible, here are some tips to make sure you save both time and money on your supermarket Christmas delivery.

Don’t put it off

The slots can go QUICK.

Last year, some of the slots for Tesco Christmas deliveries sold out in minutes! And, even this year, many slots are gone at other supermarkets.

Even if you don’t know what the full shop is, book a slot and add a few things to your basket to secure it. Then come back later to amend the shop and get everything you need.

Supermarkets let you make edits to your order before delivery, but check where you’ll be shopping to see when their cut-off is.

Don’t get it delivered at the 11th hour

You want your food as fresh as possible, which is why I understand people want it delivered at the last minute.

However, if any items are out of stock, you may receive substitutes that aren’t suitable. And I’ve heard some amazingly silly supermarket sub-stories in my time!

If you have your food delivered a few days before Christmas, you can still get to the shop if you need to grab anything else.

But it won’t be that much of a panic, as most supermarkets (and Express/Local stores) are open on Christmas Eve anyway and will close early.

Also, keep in mind that adverse weather may delay your food delivery.

Why don’t you recommend recipes for cheap food (mince, eggs, jacket potatoes,I m sure if you ask the community you will get loads of replies.Wonky veg and baguettes == soup + hot crusty rolls.very filling and healthy, even veg a bit past it s best.vegetable curry + rice.A bag of rice is much cheaper them buying small packets of rice n veg.and much nicer, you can add more of your favourite veggies and less of those not well liked.
