Free Lindt TEDDY alert: grab a stocking and claim yours this Christmas

by Ricky Willis · updated 9 December 2025

If you miss the Christmas magic from when you were a kid, you’re not alone.

New research from Lindt shows almost half of UK adults wish they could bring back their old festive traditions, and the thing people miss most is simple: a Christmas stocking.

To bring back that warm, nostalgic feeling, Lindt is giving away thousands of its 100g Lindt TEDDY chocolates for free. All you need to do is take a stocking into a participating Lindt store.

Even better, every time a TEDDY is given away or sold, £1 goes to the NSPCC to help support Childline at a time of year when many children really need someone to talk to.

How the free teddy giveaway works

Lindt stores across the UK will be handing out more than 2,000 free 100g Lindt TEDDYs over two weekends in December:

  • 13 and 14 December
  • 20 and 21 December

You only get one per person, and it’s first-come, first-served while stocks last. Just turn up with a stocking, and you’re in with a chance of getting one.

Participating stores:

  • London Piccadilly
  • Portsmouth
  • Bluewater
  • Leeds
  • Manchester
  • Cannock
  • Livingston
  • Bridgend

Why Lindt is doing it

Lindt found that most people stop using Christmas stockings around age 15, even though nearly half of adults say they secretly wish they still had one.

Over half also say Christmas gets more stressful as you get older, and lots of us are looking for small moments of joy that make the season feel special again.

The free teddy giveaway is their way of bringing a bit of that sparkle back.

But the real impact is the charity link.

For every 100g Lindt TEDDY handed out or bought, Lindt will donate £1 to the NSPCC, aiming to raise £100,000. Their partnership has already raised over £800,000 since 2016.

Why this matters

Christmas is exciting for many kids, but for others it’s the hardest time of the year. Childline hears from young people who feel scared, lonely or unsure where to turn. The donations from this campaign help keep that service going.

Should you go?

If you’re near one of the participating stores, it’s a nice chance to do something fun and nostalgic without spending anything. You get a free treat, the NSPCC gets vital support, and you bring a bit of childhood joy back for a moment.

All you need is a stocking.
