Poundland Perks: is it worth signing up for their new loyalty app?

by Naomi Willis · updated 5 August 2025

Poundland Perks is the new loyalty app helping you earn points and save money every time you shop. Here’s how it works and what you get.

We’ve had Clubcard Prices. We’ve had Nectar Prices. We’ve even had those stamps you stick on a card with the loyalty of a Labrador.

Now Poundland’s jumped on the bandwagon with their very own rewards scheme: Poundland Perks.

So, what is it? Does it actually save you anything? And is it worth making space on your phone next to all those other shopping apps you forgot existed?

What is Poundland Perks?

Poundland Perks is a loyalty app that rewards you with points every time you shop, either in-store or online.

You earn 100 points for every £1 you spend on eligible items.

Rack up enough points and you’ll unlock digital vouchers to spend on future Poundland hauls.

How do the points work?

For every £1 spent, you get 100 Loyalty Points.

Once you’ve earned 5,000 points, the app will let you swap those points for Loyalty Vouchers, which you can then spend in-store or online.

To reach 5,000 points, you’ll need to have spent £50 on qualifying purchases.

When you exchange the 5,000 you’ve saved, you’ll get £1 off your next shop.

You’ll see how far off your next voucher you are in the app.

There are a few catches, though:

  • You don’t earn points on voucher payments (so no double-dipping).
  • Points take up to 48 hours to appear.
  • Vouchers show up on the 15th of each month (or next working day), so don’t expect instant gratification.

Anything I need to know about using the vouchers?

  • No minimum spend, but your basket has to cost more than the voucher (they don’t give change).
  • Only one voucher per transaction.
  • Vouchers are digital, and you scan your Loyalty ID barcode at the till.
  • They expire in three months, so don’t sit on them too long.

If you lose your phone or forget to scan, unfortunately, they won’t be able to add your points later. So scan or lose out.

Where can you spend them?

Loyalty vouchers work in:

  • All Poundland stores across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
  • Online
  • And PEP&CO sections in-store too

But you can’t use them in Dealz (sorry, Ireland) or exchange them for cash.

What if I change my mind on a purchase?

You can exchange the item, but you won’t get the voucher value back, either in cash or as a new voucher.

Bonus: win prizes with Spin the Wheel

Every Wednesday, you can enter the “Spin the Wheel” competition in the app.

It’s free, and if you win, prizes are posted out to you.

Just don’t expect to swap them if they’re not quite your thing, as they’re non-refundable.

Is it worth signing up?

If you shop at Poundland anyway, then yes – it’s a no-brainer.

You’ll get points on what you’re already buying, it’s free to join, and there are no annoying bits of card to keep track of.

If you’re just popping in once a year for wrapping paper, then maybe not.

But for anyone grabbing snacks, shampoo or school supplies on the regular, it’s an easy way to make your pound go just that little bit further.

It’s not a massive discount, but it’s a better discount than nothing!
