Sainsbury’s has halved the price of its whole leg of lamb for Nectar customers, cutting it from £15.70 to £7.85 per kg.
The offer started on Wednesday 4 November and is due to run until Tuesday 17 November 2026, giving shoppers two weeks to pick up a joint at half price.
It’s available in selected Sainsbury’s supermarkets and online, subject to availability.
How much could you save?
The discount works out at £7.85 off every kilogram of lamb.
For example, if you bought a 2kg leg of lamb:
- Normal price: £31.40
- Nectar price: £15.70
- You save: £15.70
Sainsbury’s lists the joints at approximately 2.3kg, which would cost around £18.06 with Nectar instead of £36.11.
The price you actually pay depends on the weight of the joint you choose.
The offer is on the British or New Zealand Whole Leg of Lamb, so check the label carefully. The smaller half-leg joints aren’t included in this discount.
You can check the lamb offer on Sainsbury’s website.
How to get the half-price offer
You’ll need a Nectar card to get the discounted price.
If you’re shopping in store, scan your Nectar card or app at the checkout.
For online shopping, make sure your Nectar card is linked to your Sainsbury’s account so the lower price is applied.
You don’t need to activate a special offer in the Nectar app.
If you haven’t got a card, you can join Nectar for free.
The deal is available at selected Sainsbury’s supermarkets but not Sainsbury’s Local stores. Stock may vary, so it’s worth checking before making a special trip.
Is Sainsbury’s the cheapest place to buy a leg of lamb?
At £7.85 per kg, it’s a competitive price compared with the other supermarkets we checked on 4 November.
Tesco was selling its whole leg of lamb for £16.70 per kg.
Morrisons had its British leg of lamb reduced to £12 per kg for online deliveries between 2 and 8 November.
That makes Sainsbury’s £4.15 per kg cheaper than Morrisons’ promotional price and £8.85 per kg cheaper than Tesco’s listed price.
These comparisons are for whole legs of lamb, rather than smaller joints or different cuts. Prices and availability may change.
Of course, getting a good deal on lamb doesn’t necessarily mean Sainsbury’s will be cheapest for the rest of your shopping.

Skint Dad says:
Half price sounds brilliant, but it’s still around £18 for a typical whole leg of lamb.
If lamb is something you’d normally buy, this looks like a good opportunity to save. You could cook it for a Sunday roast and use the leftovers for another meal.
Just bear in mind that a whole leg contains bone, so you won’t get 2.3kg of meat to eat.
And if you’re buying one to freeze, check the use-by date and freezing instructions on the packaging first.
The main thing is to make sure you’ll use it. Buying something you hadn’t planned to spend money on isn’t necessarily a saving, even when it’s half price.
