We signed up for the NielsenIQ Homescan market research panel ages back to test out how it works.
The market research panel earns you points for scanning your shopping each week.
You use their free app and simply scan in what you’ve been buying.
All points earned can then be swapped for a huge range of gift cards.
Nielsen doesn’t allow everyone to join and is looking for certain-size households from all over the country.
If you’re not successful today, it’s worth trying again in a month or so, as the panel members Nielsen looks to recruit change constantly.
What’s the reward?
You’re given access to their Scanning App, and the shopping data you’ve scanned is sent in automatically. All the data is anonymous.
You earn points on a weekly basis and can even earn extra bonuses for scanning your shopping regularly.
Plus, they send out short surveys via email (they take around a minute!) from time to time and reward you with more bonus points too.
The points start to add up, and you can exchange them in the reward centre. There are so many different kinds of gift cards available.
Plus, every 4 weeks, your membership number is automatically entered into a new prize draw for your chance to win amazing prizes from holidays, experiences, the latest gadgets and once a year, a brand new car.

I use an app called Storewards. You take a photo of your receipt for points. Points then get redeemed in virtual vouchers for PayPal or Ebay .
I’ve just redeemed 100.000. Points for £10 on eBay.

This is so much simpler now you can do it through your phone. I used to have the scanning device and it was a nightmare lol
