Half a million parents have been left without their Child Benefit payment, creating stress and uncertainty for families across the UK.

This disruption, caused by a technical issue at HMRC, means that around 30% of Monday’s scheduled payments did not go through.
HMRC has admitted the problem through social media and is working to resolve the batch processing issue that caused this massive delay.

However, there are VERY long waits to get through on the phone and they are advising people not to call as you won’t be able to get any more information.
The UK’s tax authority has assured that the missed payments will be made, but they have yet to provide a concrete timeline.
In an update on the BBC, they’ve stated that payments may not be made until Wednesday, 5 June!
In an online statement, HMRC said, “We are working to get payments out as quickly as possible to those people who were expecting their Child Benefit today but didn’t get it. We are sorry for the delay and will give an update soon.”
For now, HMRC has asked customers not to contact them directly and promised to share updates via social media.
They have said that the problems causing Monday’s delays will not impact payments scheduled for Tuesday.
Seeing feedback from parents online, it’s clear how much the Child Benefit payment is a lifeline for many families.
Normally paid every four weeks, these payments help cover everyday costs.
If you’re responsible for a child under 16, or under 20 if they’re in approved education or training, you know just how crucial this support is.
The disruption has led many parents to voice their frustration on social media, sharing how the delay has left them unable to buy food.
