Ikea set to overhaul membership perks – here’s how you could pocket extra cash

by Ricky Willis · updated 22 August 2024

Starting 27 August, the Ikea Family Loyalty Club is introducing a new way to save while you shop.

If you’re a member, you’ll soon be able to earn points every time you make a purchase, whether it’s online or in-store.

Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting update.

How to earn points

From 27th August, every time you spend £5 at Ikea, you’ll earn one point.

It’s a simple way to make your money go further, whether you’re buying a new sofa, some storage solutions, or even just a few kitchen bits.

However, do keep in mind that points won’t be earned on gift card purchases.

But that’s not all. You can also collect extra points by completing certain tasks. For example, Ikea might reward you with additional points for creating a wishlist or attending a planning appointment.

These small tasks could add up quickly, giving you more rewards to enjoy.

What can you do with points?

Once you’ve started earning points, you can redeem them for rewards. Ikea is offering some great incentives, like discounts on your orders, savings on delivery fees, or even meals at Ikea restaurants.

Imagine getting money off your favourite meatballs just for being a loyal customer!

But there’s a catch—once you redeem your points for a voucher code, you need to use it within 30 days.

So, if you’ve got a big purchase planned or just fancy a cheap meal, make sure to keep track of your vouchers and use them before they expire.

A loyalty club with millions of members

The Ikea Family Loyalty Club has been around since 2006 and has grown to include over 10 million members in the UK alone.

With this new points system, those members now have even more reasons to stay loyal to Ikea.

Whether you’re a long-time member or just thinking about joining, this update is a great opportunity to get more out of your Ikea shopping experience.

Final thoughts

The new Ikea Family Loyalty Club points system is a welcome change that gives members more ways to save.

Whether you’re earning points by shopping or completing tasks, these rewards can help you make your money stretch further.

If you’re not already a member, now might be the perfect time to join and start collecting those points.

So, get ready to start earning and redeeming your points from 27th August—your next Ikea trip might just be a bit cheaper!
