Lidl Christmas dinner deal: feed 8 for around £12 this year

by Naomi Willis · updated 10 December 2025

Lidl has launched one of the cheapest Christmas dinner deals for 2025, offering a full festive roast for around £12 to feed eight people.

The supermarket is cutting turkey prices to roughly £9, dropping selected veg to 8p and matching the lowest turkey and veg prices across all major UK retailers.

The deal centres on a low-cost turkey, ultra-cheap veg and all the usual bits you need to build a proper roast. Lidl is also promising to match the lowest price on fresh turkeys and key festive veg across all major supermarkets, meaning you won’t pay more than anyone else in the final week before Christmas.

How Lidl’s Christmas dinner deal works

Lidl keeps the festive shop simple. They’ve confirmed that fresh Birchwood whole turkeys and crowns will be on sale from 19 December, and the supermarket guarantees to match the lowest price found at Asda, Aldi, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Co-op, M&S, Waitrose, Ocado and Iceland.

If any of those retailers drops their price, Lidl drops theirs too. You can even show proof of a lower price on the day, and Lidl will match it at the till. It’s a straightforward way to make sure you’re not overpaying.

That promise alone could save families several pounds when turkey prices usually spike.

What you’ll pay for the roast

Based on Lidl’s own pricing for Christmas 2025:

  • A fresh whole turkey is expected to be around £9 for a 3.5kg bird.
  • Festive veg drops to 8p per pack (on selected lines) between 18 and 24 December.
  • Stuffing is roughly 90p for two packs.
  • Gravy is around £1.09.
  • A 15-pack of Yorkshire puddings comes in at 46p.

Put together, this creates a full Christmas dinner for around £11.85 to £12, depending on turkey size and availability.

It’s one of the lowest totals across the supermarkets this year.

When to shop for the best price

Lidl’s 8p veg promotion and turkey price matching only run during the week before Christmas.

Key dates:

  • 18–24 December: Veg price match and 8p offers
  • 19–24 December: Turkey price match and available in store

These dates are tight and stock is limited, so it’s worth going early in the window if you want the very best price.

There are also limits of three packs per item, which stops people clearing the shelves.

Lidl’s price match promise

Lidl checks the prices of its festive veg and fresh turkeys daily against 10 major supermarkets. If any of them go lower, Lidl guarantees to match it.

They’ll match it automatically, but if the change hasn’t appeared yet, you can show proof and they’ll match it at the checkout. This applies only to like-for-like products and doesn’t include multi-buys.

It’s one of the strongest guarantees this Christmas and makes Lidl a safe bet for anyone who just wants the lowest price without chasing deals.

Who this deal is best for

This deal works well if you:

  • Want the cheapest Christmas dinner without losing the basics
  • Like simple, predictable pricing
  • Prefer fresh turkey rather than frozen
  • Already shop at Lidl or want to keep travel costs down

It’s also ideal for bigger families where every pound matters.

What this means for households this year

Many families are feeling stretched, and the thought of hosting Christmas can be stressful. Lidl’s offer won’t fix every money worry, but it does make Christmas dinner something you don’t have to panic about.

Skint Dad says:

Small savings add up fast at Christmas and a £12 roast for eight people means more room in the budget for the bits that matter.

Extra festive offers

Lidl isn’t stopping at the main roast. They’re also promoting:

  • Plant-based Christmas mains like vegan wellingtons
  • Special Christmas dishes such as lobster tails and festive pies
  • Seasonal sides and puddings across their Deluxe range

If you’re building a bigger spread, these extras can help without bumping the cost up too far.

Final thoughts

Lidl’s Christmas dinner deal for 2025 offers some of the strongest value on the high street. With a £9 turkey, 8p veg and clear price matching, it’s one of the simplest ways to bring down the cost of Christmas Day.
