Weekly Little Helps for Your Bank Holiday from Tesco Grocery

by Naomi Willis · updated 3 May 2018

This is a paid advertorial with Tesco

I was excited at the prospect that summer had already started! Well, after three glorious days (I even caught the sun!!) the British weather has gone back to normal.

I sit and watch the rain drizzling through my window, hoping the sun will once again make an appearance, but also grateful that my veg is getting a good feeding in our allotment.

It’s May – already!

How is it already May? The last four months have gone super quick!

Now we really should start to see the back of the grim weather and we can prepare ourselves for fun times.

It’s time to dust off your garden furniture, feed the lawn, and prepare your BBQ for some good cooking.

The May Bank Holiday is fast approaching, which means an extra long weekend.

We are off to a BBQ with some close friends. For us, the weekend will be about eating lots of food, maybe a couple of drinks and some good laughs.

While it’s great getting together for a BBQ, the costs can add up really quickly.

It’s so much more of a feast than a normal dinner, and it’s easy to get carried away.

Luckily, Tesco Weekly Little Helps has got some awesome offers and deals to cut costs this Bank Holiday.

BBQ meat on offer

BBQ meat on offer at Tesco

Saving you time (and money), Tesco Grocery has selected BBQ meats on offer at 3 for £10.

Not only is this good value, but as the meats have been prepared in marinades, it saves you the time of having to do it yourself.

Buying the BBQ meats on offer will give plenty of meat to feed a hungry family or even an extra friend who shows up.

If it’s a wash out this weekend then don’t worry, just plan for an indoor BBQ. I don’t mean to bring your BBQ inside, but these meats cook perfectly fine in the oven too.

Even if you’re not planning a BBQ this weekend, the BBQ meat in the 3 for £10 offer is suitable for the freezer. So, it’s worth buying them while they’re on offer and you can use them up later in the year.

59p on selected fruit and veg

You always need a decent salad when you’re having a BBQ.

Salad tomatoes, mushrooms, celery hearts and radishes are all on offer, reduced to just 59p.

My first thoughts are to half the mushrooms, pop them onto skewers and get them on the BBQ!

Add some shredded cabbage or lettuce with the tomatoes, celery and radishes and you’ve got a salad side dish too.

To go with the salad, I’d whisk up a dressing of 2 tbsp white wine vinegar, 1 tsp lime juice, 1 tbsp olive oil, a pinch of salt and pepper and a dash of hot sauce, which will really spice things up!

£6.50 Diet Coke and Coke Zero

With all that food, you’ll want something to wash it down.

Reduced from £8 for a pack of 24 cans, Tesco Grocery has reduced packs of Coke to just £6.50 in their Weekly Little Helps offers.

This works out at just 27p a can!

Other supermarkets are selling bigger 30 can packs at £10, but this works out 6p more expensive per drink!

Tesco Grocery Weekly Little Helps really helps if you enjoy drinking Coke.

Their offer is valid over the Bank Holiday until Tuesday 8th May, so it may well be worth stocking up while they’re cheap.

£10 for 20 Budweiser

Budweiser offer

If you like a glass of beer to go with your BBQ, then Tesco Grocery will be where you want to shop.

You can pick up 20 bottles for just £10 on offer in store and for home delivery – that’s just 50p a bottle.

This saves you 17% on their usual price.

Some promotional packs will also give you the chance to win a 2018 FIFA World Cup Experience if you like to enter the odd competition.

Iceland is selling the same packs of Budweiser at £20 so avoid them, and head to Tesco for your offers.

Weekly Little Helps from Tesco Grocery offers great quality items at far lower prices, meaning you can keep more money in your pocket each week.

Look out for Tesco’s Weekly Little Helps every Wednesday both in-store and online and make sure to stock up while they’re on offer.
