If you’re after a chocolaty treat, Costco is selling the massive Lindt balls for £9 – but is it really a bargain?

My daughter loves the smoothing melting Lindor chocolate, so we got her one as a gift last year.
She was slightly disappointed as she expected the ball to be one giant chocolate but, instead, it’s filled with just over 40 normal sized Lindor milk chocolates.
Not quite sure how she expected to eat a super-sized ball of chocolate (lol), but she was very happy in the end with loads of smaller chocolate balls.
Spotted by the Sun, at £9 (£8.38 with VAT included), the giant balls of chocolate look like a deal from Costco, but only if you’ve already got a membership.
Remember that you’ll need to pay an extra £33.60 for a Costco membership if you want to shop both in store and online.
The Lindor Maxi Ball is usually priced at £14.99, so while £9 is a great bargain, it may not be worth taking out a membership to the cash and carry if this is all you’re after.
If you’re planning to take a visit to Costco to buy one, be sure to call the store first to make sure they’ve got enough in stock.

Cheap Lindt chocolate
If you’ve not got a Costco membership and don’t fancy taking one out, you’ve got some other options to get some cheap Lindt chocolate.
Tesco is selling the massive gift balls for £10.
I know it’s not Lindt, but they are also selling these Ferrero Grand Rocher at two for £7, usually £5 each. (Oh, my! They look so good!!)
Wilko says the giant Lindor balls are a stocking filler gift, but it’s far too big to fit in a stocking!
They are also being sold for £10 in Wilko in store and online.
If you get a student discount, then Superdrug may be the best deal for you.
You can get the Lindor giant ball for £10 at Superdrug (like the others), but you can also get 10% off with a student discount online, meaning it’s the same price as Costco.
Isn’t it just more plastic?
Once you take off the wrapping, you’ve got a transparent plastic globe with the chocolates inside.
When you’re done eating the chocolates, the plastic globe comes in handy, so there’s no need for more plastic to head to the rubbish tip.
There is a flat section on one side of the giant Lindt ball, so it stands upright.
Our daughter uses it to store hair bands or random bits and bobs inside.
