I am the first to admit that advent calendars are getting a bit ridiculous!
As a kid, we had a bit of cheap chocolate, and that was it. However, in recent year, instead of buying an advent calendar for a quid, they are selling for £50+
(I’ve had a full rant about is, so I won’t go on here too. See > are advent calendars going too far?)
While some are overly expensive, there are some mega cheap ones around.
Lidl advent calendars
In the middle of Lidl from Thursday 7 November 2019, Lidl is selling a new range of advent calendars.
Starting from 99p, they have different ones to suit the whole family.
Cheese advent calendar
As a cheese lover, the Ilchester Cheese advent calendar caught my eye when I saw it on Instagram.
Costing 7.99, you’ll have a new piece of cheese daily, plus a cheesy joke.
Cheese in the calendar includes Jarlsberg, Applewood, Mexicana, Cheddar, Red Leicester, Double Gloucester and Wensleydale.
As it’s full of cheese, you need to keep the calendar in the fridge.
Moo free organic dairy-free advent calendar
If you have allergies, getting traditional chocolate advent calendars can be a struggle.
Lidl is offering an alternative to milk chocolate made from a blend of cocoa, sugar and rice.
The advent is:
- Organic
- Soya free
- Dairy-free
- Lactose free
- Gluten-free
- Wheat free and
- Casein-free
- No GM
It’s also suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
It costs £4.75 in Sainsbury’s, so you’re getting a bargain paying £3.99 in Lidl.
Powerfix Profi DIY Advent Calendar
A little pricier at £14.99, this advent calendar will be perfect to get a collection of tools.
It’s not a usual 24 advent, as you can collect 36 bits.
