Aldi has just launched something completely unexpected for Christmas 2025.

They’ve brought out the world’s first lickable pigs in blankets wrapping paper, and you can claim a roll for free. The giveaway is only running for a short time, so it’s worth acting fast if you want one.

The idea sounds wild, but it’s Aldi, so we kinda expect it!

How to get a free roll

Aldi isn’t selling this wrapping paper in stores. The only way to get it is to enter their quick email competition.

To enter, send your full name to:

wrappingpaper@aldi.co.uk

The competition closes at 11:59 pm on 1 December, and winners will hear back by 12 December so they can wrap gifts in time for Christmas.

What this wrapping paper actually is

The paper is based on Aldi’s new Specially Selected Double Wrapped Pigs in Blankets, which come with an extra rasher of streaky bacon and are expected to be popular this Christmas.

According to Aldi, Brits will eat around 561 million pigs in blankets this year, which works out at roughly ten per person across the festive season.

The wrapping paper has a soft pink design with holly, snowflakes and cartoon-style pigs in blankets. What makes it unusual is the special peel-and-lick stickers hidden in the pattern. Lift one up and you get a smoky, savoury flavour that’s meant to mimic the real thing.

It’s definitely a talking point for Christmas morning, or a snack while you’re wrapping gifts!

Why Aldi made it

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, says pigs in blankets are one of the big highlights of Christmas and they wanted something fun to celebrate their new range. After receiving a Good Housekeeping award, Aldi wanted to release a little extra surprise for shoppers this year.

Skint Dad says

Christmas can squeeze every spare penny, so getting freebies like this can take the pressure off and still keep things fun.

Is it worth entering?

If you enjoy light-hearted Christmas extras, the wrapping paper is a fun freebie. Even if licking stickers isn’t your thing, the design itself still looks nice on gifts.

The real appeal is that it’s something different at a time when many families are watching every cost. It’s free, seasonal and easy to enter. If you want it, don’t wait until the last minute because the competition window is tight.
