I was delighted when Tasty Easy Lamb approached me and asked if I wanted to make a recipe using lamb.
To be honest, lamb is not something that we have on our meal plan week in, week out.
It seems to have a bad rep that it’s expensive or is eaten just as a treat, like on Easter Sunday. However, it shouldn’t be a meat to have just once a year or when you find it in the yellow sticker section.
Lamb is an easy meat to cook with, can make delicious meals and it really won’t break the bank.
Keep costs down
Trying to stay on budget with your food shop can be a struggle, but adding lamb to your meal plan isn’t actually that expensive.
Choosing diced lamb is around the same cost as buying chicken breasts and it’s just as versatile.
Even a leg of lamb may seem expensive, but there is enough meat to do your Sunday roast, plus have leftovers for the following week, meaning you can stretch two meals.
So, what did I decide to make? It was an obvious choice…
Skint Dad’s Lamb Rogan Josh
I love my curries!
Whether it’s eating in a curry house with friends or getting a take out at the weekend, the flavours and aromas make my mouth water just thinking about them.
However, when you’re skint, getting enough money together for a night out isn’t high on my priority list.
Instead, it’s far easier to grab some ingredients from the supermarket and try making my own fakeaway.
Fakeaways don’t just have to be for a special occasion or at the weekends. In fact, this Lamb Rogan Josh Fakeaway is quick and easy so is perfect for a weeknight treat as well.
