Parents may well be trying to find fun and cheap days out for the kids.

But they don’t need to look too far.

London Zoo is helping with mega-cheap tickets to help more people get closer to wildlife on a day out.

£3 London Zoo tickets

London Zoo is offering tickets from £3 as part of their Community Access Scheme to allow more families to have a magical day out.

The cheaper Super Saver tickets are priced at £26.50 usually, so this is a mammoth saving!!

You’ll be able to spot Critically Endangered Sumatran tiger cubs, Western lowland gorillas, Humboldt penguins and more than 14,000 other animals at their iconic conservation zoo.

You must pre-book online for up to 6 people (under 3s go free).

However, if you can afford to make a small voluntary donation for the tickets (even 50p or £1), it would be gratefully received by the zoo, which is a charity.

Tickets must be pre-booked so they can allocate spaces flexibly and plan overall visitor numbers.

You can get the lower price through the Community Access Scheme if you receive Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support or Jobseeker’s Allowance.

You will have to take a proof of benefits letter with you to the gate when you ask for the tickets (this can be electronic).

The £3 ticket price is for children wth the ticket price at £6 for adults, although those under 3s go free.

While there are places to get food on-site at one of their restaurants or cafes, you’re more than welcome to take your own picnic and find a spot in their 36-acre space in the middle of London.

You can check the full offer details at www.zsl.org/CAS.

ZSL’s Community & Learning Manager said:

“As London’s zoo, we want to do what we can to help everyone enjoy a great day out exploring nature – so from now until the end of March we’re offering tickets for just £3 to eligible families on low incomes.

“While as a conservation charity we’re facing tough times ourselves, we know that people across the country are really feeling the pinch during the cost-of-living crisis – so we’re pleased to be able to help more people get closer to wildlife.

“By offering these discounted tickets through our Community Access Scheme, people can spend a magical day spotting Critically Endangered Sumatran tiger cubs, Western lowland gorillas, Humboldt penguins and more than 14,000 other animals at London’s iconic conservation zoo.”

(Please note, when this deal was first released, London Zoo asked for tickets to be purchased at the gate, but this has changed, and they MUST be booked in advance).

London Zoo isn’t the only place that offers cheap tickets if you receive UC. Here are other top London attractions that offer tickets as low as £1.

While this deal may not work for all, there are other ways to get cheap tickets for London Zoo.

London Zoo tickets 2 for 1

There are a couple of options to get 2 for 1 tickets to London Zoo.

Free entry with a Blue Peter badge

Children aged 6 – 15 who show their Blue Peter badge get free entry to the zoo with a full-paying adult.

You can save £100s on days out with a Blue Peter Badge, and getting one is free (although it can take a few months to arrive).

National Rail 241

If you are travelling by train, you can take advantage of National Rail’s 241 offer.

You need to have two valid National Rail Tickets, which gets one person into London Zoo free of charge.

You must pre-book 241 entry tickets here.

Free entry with London Pass/Go City Explorer Pass

If you are a London Pass or Go City Explorer Pass holder, you just need to present your pass to ZSL Admission staff when you arrive. Then, you get free entry!

Hi, you’re not able to pre-book tickets. You can only buy them directly from the ticket office on the day.
