So the dust has settled, sort of!
Since the announcement by Savoo that me, Skint Dad, Ricky was crowned the winner of this year’s “UK’s Smartest Shopper” competition, my feet haven’t touched the ground.
It really has been a roller coaster few days and I have got a feeling it may get even crazier!
Anyway, I wanted to tell you a bit more about Savoo, the company behind the competition.

Savoo are the UK’s leading site on the web for money-saving, vouchers and deals for the best stores. No matter what you want to buy, Savoo will have it covered. From the comfort of your dining table, sofa or in your own bed, you can use their website or iPhone app to browse for that much-needed voucher code or deal.
As well as adding up to date offers, Savoo has a team of DealPros, who are money-saving experts and deal hunters. They search out and share advice on how to spend less and are dead set on helping us make our money go further. If you have read any other posts on my site you will know this is something I can relate to greatly.
When you land on the Savoo home page you are confronted with a wealth of delights.
First up, the ‘Vouchers’ and ‘Exclusives’ sections.
Currently, Savoo has over 200k vouchers listed on their site (you might want to take a week off so that you can check through them all) which include some top brands such as Amazon, Zavvi & Hallmark, with loads of pages of deals exclusive to Savoo.
What I like about this section is that on the left-hand side it breaks down the vouchers into categories. This means you don’t have to spend ages searching which, in my case of being a stay-at-home-dad, is perfect as every minute is precious.
Next we have the ‘Compare’ page.
Here is the new Savoo price comparison service. From holidays to insurance to broadband, here you can find and compare the best deals on the web.
I actually did a quick search for a holiday next March to Spain for 2 adults and 2 children. Savoo’s comparison service quickly searched for the best deal and came back with a total price of less than £500! Result!
The next tab is ‘Groceries’.
Savoo partner with MySupermarket where they hunt and list the top deals from the UK’s major Supermarkets, health and beauty retailers and wine merchants. So, not only can you find the cheapest basket of food from all the supermarkets but you can now get the greatest deals too.
The process is straightforward. You simply select the product you want to buy, add it to the MySupermarket basket (you need to sign up if you haven’t already.) You then transfer your basket directly to the online retailer. Remember, just check Savoo for any additional voucher codes before completing your purchase.
‘Local’ is next and this is a great tool if you are looking for a deal nearer to where you live. Just pop in your postcode, hit the search button and you are provided with the best local deals near to you. Don’t tell Skint Mum but I found a great deal on a spa day which, if she keeps bringing me tea and biscuits, I may be tempted to dip into my pocket (I said maybe!).
Next is right up Skint Dad’s street, the Savoo Blog!
Here you can find some fantastic money-saving articles from “15 Ways To Use Old Buttons” to “Male Grooming On A Budget”. It also has a great interview with the winner of this year’s “UK Smartest Shopper” competition ;D
There you have it. The low-down of who Savoo are and how they can help you, my friend, to make the most of your hard earned money so get on over to them and start saving some money.

Congrats again! We have an offer for airport parking on Savoo. From our referred traffic it seems the site is getting more popular by the minute.
