Too Good To Go has quietly switched on a new loyalty card for selected UK users, and it’s already causing a bit of confusion.
One person in the same house might open the app and see the new stamp card sitting there, while the next person gets absolutely nothing. Ricky (Skint Dad) has it. Naomi (Skint Mum) doesn’t.
The card gives you a stamp each time you collect a Surprise Bag or Parcel, and once you’ve filled it, a voucher lands in your account.
It’s still in testing, but it could become one of the most useful changes the app has made, especially for families who rely on Magic Bags to stretch their weekly food budget.
Here’s exactly how the new loyalty card works, why the rollout feels totally random, and what you can actually earn from it.
What the Too Good To Go loyalty card does
The card is automatic. When it appears in your app, it’s live, and you can start collecting stamps straight away. Head to your profile in the app and if it’s there you have it.
Every Surprise Bag or Parcel you collect earns a stamp. If your order has more than one bag in it, you get a stamp for each one.
Once you’ve collected 9 stamps, you qualify for a voucher. The reward is applied to your account automatically, but only after you close and reopen the app.

Skint Dad says:
Saving money works best when it becomes part of your routine, and a loyalty card gives you a little extra for doing something you’d already be doing.
Why some people have it and others don’t
The rollout is completely random.
Too Good To Go has confirmed it’s not based on how often you use the app, how many bags you’ve saved in the past, or whether you’re a long-term user.
Some users get it. Others don’t.
Even people in the same household can have different versions of the app.
This is a typical testing pattern. The company gives the feature to a smaller group first, sees how it performs and makes changes before launching it more widely.
Important rules to know before you start
A few things in the small print matter:
- Only bags collected after your loyalty card appears count. Nothing is backdated. If you saved 100 bags before activation, that doesn’t give you any stamps.
- Each Parcel counts as one stamp, exactly the same as a Surprise Bag.
- You only get one loyalty card.
- Once you fill it and get your voucher, the card does not renew. There is no second round.
- You can track your progress by opening the Loyalty Card section of the app.
For an early test, the rules are quite strict, which suggests Too Good To Go is checking how people use the feature before deciding if it will become permanent.
What this could mean for your food budget
Most people use Magic Bags as a cheap way to top up the week. A bakery bag can sort a few breakfasts. A supermarket bag might fill lunchboxes. A café bag can cover snacks for two days.
A loyalty card reward gives a little extra boost.
Once you grab 9 bags and the voucher appears, you effectively get a small discount on your overall spend. For anyone using the app weekly, that reward could take a bit of pressure off during a tight month.
If Too Good To Go eventually opens the scheme to everyone, the savings could add up very quickly for regular users.
Tips for making the most of the app (with or without the card)
Not everyone has the loyalty card yet, but you can still get good value from the app:
- Try smaller local shops and convenience stores, which often give better-quality bags.
- Check the app late in the evening, when new bags sometimes appear.
- If you do have the card, choose orders with multiple bags when you can. That’s extra stamps for the same trip.
These small tweaks make a big difference over time.
Final thought
Too Good To Go has already helped many households cut food waste and shave money off their weekly shop.
A loyalty card is a smart next step, and even in its early testing stage, it has the potential to help families stretch their food budget further.
If it appears in your app, fill it while you can.
If it hasn’t reached you yet, chances are it’s on the way.
