Tesco is increasing the amount you need to spend on home delivery.

They are increasing the minimum basket charge. It is currently £4 but will go up to £5 after 2 May 2023.

This charge is applied if you put fewer items in your basket than the minimum basket value.

The minimum basket value is currently £40, but this is increasing for orders after 2 May.

After this date, the minimum basket value will be £50 for home delivery.

There is no change to Click+Collect, which will stay at £25.

The increase in delivery costs is the first time Tesco has raised prices in eight years.

Other changes at Tesco

There have been a lot of changes at Tesco in the last month.

They have reduced the redemption value of Clubcard points.

Also, they are lowering the number of points you collect on fuel.

Tesco Whoosh

Tesco has been increasing its Whoosh delivery service, with over 1,000 stores offering quick delivery.

This is for smaller shops, such as last-minute meals and essentials.

You can get delivery in as little as 30 minutes for £2.99.

Deliveries come from Express stores rather than the larger supermarkets.

Other supermarket home delivery costs

The cheapest online supermarket has generally always been Asda and Iceland.

Iceland offers free home delivery when you spend a minimum of £40.

Asda charge from £1 for delivery with a minimum spend of £40.
