Get money off your phone bill every month with Airtime Rewards

Using the Airtime Rewards app, I’ve been able to reduce my phone bill by shopping as normal in places like Boots, Wilko, Argos, Cafe Nero and more.

I love a good way to make money without even trying, and the Airtime Rewards app does just that.

Once signed up, I carry on living as normal, shop as I need, and I earn cashback on my purchases without even looking at the app.

In no time at all, I’ve been able to earn money back, which I can redeem off my phone bill.

And, who doesn’t like paying less when it’s so easy?!

I’ve been using the app for some time – here’s my review.

How does Airtime Rewards work?

The free Airtime Rewards app rewards you money back against your mobile phone bill – both for contract and PAYG.

Simply shop (as usual) with your favourite retailers and restaurants online and on the high street, and you’ll get a discount on your bill.

Airtime Rewards claim that members are saving £10 each month, but some are clearing their phone bill entirely!

For me, it’s not been that much, but that’s not a reason for me to stop using it.

I clearly don’t shop enough on the high street, or online, with the retailers listed on the app.

It’s not that there’s a bad selection of shops, with ones I use like Boots, Wilko and Matalan, it’s just that I don’t spend money that often (I suppose that’s a good thing).

If you shop more often, then you will save more on your phone bill.

Set up is easy

Once you’ve downloaded the app, enter your mobile phone number and get your account set up.

You can then link any Visa or Mastercards.

It’s not just from your main bank account, but you can link as many cards as you want. This will give you more opportunities to earn more money – taking online surveys for money is another great way to make cash.

Then, just go shopping and spend money as you normally do.

The app will track your spending and will reward you with cashback from the retailers listed in the app.

This can be both online shopping and on the high street with shops as well as restaurants.

Proof it works

Cashback is a percentage of what you spend, not the whole amount, so it will be pennies you’re earning (unless you’re a big spender).

After you shop, your cashback will appear in the app within 5 days as “pending”.

It can then take around 35 days before the retailers pays up and the cashback rewards will show as “complete”. This then means the money is yours.

The cashback rewards will tot up, and once you’ve earned £5 worth, you can redeem them off your phone bill if you’re on a contract or you’ll get a free top up if you’re on PAYG.

To get money off your phone bill, head over to the Rewards screen and choose how much you want to redeem.

And, you don’t need to use Airtime Rewards on its own, but can double (and even triple) up on the amount of money you make back on your spending.

First up, be sure to look at some of the different cashback websites who’ll pay you when you shop online at thousands of different shops (see what is cashback).

Also, if you’ve got a good credit history, can pay back the balance in full each month, and can trust yourself, then you may want to look into cashback credit cards.

They pay you a percentage back on your everyday spending.

So, if you do all of these, you can have a triple-whammy on the amount of money you get back after shopping!
