Aldi, currently the UK’s lowest priced supermarket, according to research from Which?, is starting to offer a rapid delivery service of food.
If you need to get essentials in a hurry, but you cannot leave the house, or for whatever reason you want, your local Aldi store can get food to you.
You won’t be able to do an entire food shop but can pick from 150 different foods and essentials to keep you going.
You’ll be able to pick things like:
- British meats and fish
- fresh fruit and veg
- cereal
- milk
- eggs
- bread
- and even some favourite treats.
At first, the Aldi online food shopping is just a trial and is running in partnership with the Deliveroo app.
To test it out, the delivery service is running from its Daelside Road store in Nottingham, but there are already plans to roll out the trail further to seven stores in the East Midlands in June.
Aldi has said that if this trial is successful, they will roll it out to even more stores by the end of 2020.

How to get Aldi food delivered
You need to download the Deliveroo app, which is on the Apple App Store and the Google Play store. Alternatively, you can place on order directly on their site.

Once on Deliveroo, search in Groceries and pick Aldi, then go through the categories to choose what you need to be delivered.
Once you’ve filled your online basket, you’ll need to check out and pay via Deliveroo.
Delivery costs £4.99, and your shopping is picked by Aldi in your local store. It’s then delivered by Deliveroo in as little as 30 minutes.
They even offer contactless delivery.
But, convenience comes at a price!
The cost of Aldi food on Deliveroo will be more than you usually pay in the store. Aldi says that they “still offer amazing Aldi value and quality”.
This is not the first time Aldi has offered online food delivery.
They recently launched the Aldi food box where you can get essentials delivered in just a few days. The food boxes cost £23.99, which includes any delivery costs, and contains 22 products including tinned soup, rice and pasta.
Same day food delivery
Aldi is not the first supermarket to offer fast same day delivery.
Co-op allows home delivery of their food via Deliveroo in as little as 15 minutes, and you can even order Co-op food online with some stores.
If you have the budget or fancy a treat, some M&S food stores have started to offer fast delivery through Deliveroo as well.
