Saving up for Christmas can be a struggle!
While most people have all good intentions of putting money aside, it doesn’t always go to plan and, as December approaches, it can all feel like a bit of a panic.
Even if you have been able to save a bit of money here or there, the rates you get from a bank aren’t great.
But what if you could cash in on any savings, or make some extra money back with?

For Iceland shoppers, you can make a decent bit of extra money to spend on food in the run up to Christmas (or you could just spend it on normal food!)
It’s well worth getting an Iceland Bonus Card as every time you save money onto your Bonus Card you get, well, a bonus.
For every £20 you save onto your card they give you £1 back for free – not bad!
As well as at Iceland, you’re also able to top up your Bonus Card at Iceland’s The Food Warehouse.
However, to help save for Christmas, Iceland are doubling their bonus.
Double your savings bonus
From 29 October to 18 November 2018, instead of getting the standard £1 bonus for every £20 you add to your Bonus Card, Iceland is doubling it.
This means you’ll get £2 for free every time you save £20 onto your card with them.
You don’t need to save £20 to the card in one go. You can top up over time and when you hit each £20 you will then be eligible for the bonus.
Bonuses will be loaded onto your card to spend on 22 November 2018.
How to save with the Bonus Card
You’re able to put save onto your Bonus Card both in store and online.
When you’re in store, simply let tell the cashier how much you’d like to save and they’ll load it onto your Bonus Card.
If you prefer to shop online, then go to the “Manage my Bonus Card” page at groceries.iceland.co.uk.
As well as being able to see what your savings balance is you can add more money.
Just click on “Top Up”, enter how much you want to save and then enter your payment method.
How to spend from your Bonus Card
When it comes to spending the money you’ve saved (and any bonuses you’ve got) it’s really easy to spend it.
If you’re shopping in store then just hand your card over to the cashier and tell them how much you’d like to spend.
They’ll then deduct it from your total bill.
When you’re online shopping, as you get to the checkout you will be given the option to spend some or all of the savings.
Just select “Spend Savings” and put in how much you’d like to spend.
That amount will then be taken off your shopping bill.
Is the money safe?
The cards don’t come with the same protection levels like banks.
However, all savings are ring-fenced in an Iceland Bonus Card Savings trust bank account which is separate to all other Iceland bank accounts.
Don’t have a Bonus Card yet?
If you want to take advantage of the double savings bonus then you need to get yourself a Bonus Card.
Simply pop into a store and ask at the till.
