Eating out over the Christmas holidays can get expensive fast, especially with the kids at home for weeks.

The good news is there are still loads of places across the UK where kids can eat free or for £1 if you know where to look.

Below is an up-to-date list of restaurants, cafés, supermarkets and pubs running kids eat free or cheap meal deals over the Christmas school holidays.

Most kids eat free offers come with a few rules. It’s worth checking these before you head out.

  • Many offers need an adult meal to be bought
  • Some deals are dine-in only
  • A few need an app, voucher or loyalty card
  • Not every branch always takes part

Tesco café

  • Kids eat free Monday to Friday during school holidays
  • An adult just needs to buy any item
  • Clubcard required
  • Includes hot meals or lunch deals

Dunelm Pausa café

  • Kids eat free with £4 adult spend
  • Includes mini main, snacks and drink

Ikea

  • Kids’ meals from 95p
  • Available daily from 11am
  • Great value if you’re already shopping

Dobbies Garden Centre

  • Kids eat for £1 with a main adult meal
  • Free kids’ breakfast when an adult orders a traditional or full breakfast
  • Kids can choose a hot lunch or pick and mix lunch box later in the day
  • A free child’s drink is included
  • Available every day
  • £1 supplement for a kids’ Sunday roast
