Yellow stickers are a great way to lower the price of food shopping, and Aldi is introducing a new initiative to further cut costs on food.
This means there will be more yellow sticker shopping bargains available for everyone.
With this move, even more people can save money and help reduce food waste.

Aldi already adds red “yellow” stickers to food when they’re near their use by or best before dates.
I usually find 50% off stickers.
But, they can also give you a whopping 75% off the price of fresh produce on its last day of life.
However, they are now going one step further.
To cut down on food waste, more than 920 of their stores will mark down other goods by 30% if the packaging is imperfect.
You’ll be able to get extra savings on things like rice, pasta, cereal and tinned goods.
Finding food with the extra 30% off label will differ from one store to the next, depending on what is damaged.
They will also only be available while stocks last.
Making extra reductions will prevent wasted food and help Aldi work towards halving its food waste by 2030.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said:
“Shoppers hunting for the best deals already head to Aldi for the lower prices, but our latest reductions will help customers find even more bargains.
“Not only that, but these discounts also help us to reduce food waste – an urgent issue which we are committed to tackling.”
When is the best time to get Aldi bargains?
Supermarket reduction times vary from one supermarket to the next.
I find the best bargains in Aldi are in the morning.
I generally find plenty after I’ve done the school run.
Although bargain hunter shoppers typically call them “yellow stickers”, the reduction stickers in Aldi are red.
If you prefer to shop online, Iceland gives away free food close to its best before on online deliveries.
