Eating out isn’t the cheapest of activities, but it’s a great treat and a lovely way to spend some family time (plus there’s no washing up)!

You can easily save money when eating out if you take advantage of kids eat free restaurant deals and vouchers.

Even though the kid’s menu is cheaper than the adults, getting them fed on the house will make your pudding taste that much sweeter!

Kids eat free restaurants

There are loads of places to get free deals on food for kids and money saving offers at restaurants across the UK, whether you’re after breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Maybe you want to use the deals over the long summer holidays to help organise days out, or you just fancy a treat; getting something for free is always better!

Here are the best kids’ free meals deals:

One tip: Check the fine print to ensure the offer runs the day you want to eat. (Some places don’t allow the freebies on bank holidays, Mother’s/Father’s Day etc and some locations are excluded).

Also, remember that the offers will usually not run alongside other offers or things like Tastecard or Tesco Clubcard vouchers.

Morrisons

You have a deal on dine-in food if you’re a Morrisons shopper.

As long as you spend over £4.50 on an adult’s meal, kids eat free every day.

There are tonnes of other Morrisons cafe offers to save money on too.

Tesco

Tesco is running its Kids Eat Free scheme over the school holidays from Monday to Friday.

You’d need to spend a minimum of 60p in the cafe to get a free kid’s hot meal deal, kid’s breakfast or a kid’s pick and mix lunch deal, which includes a sandwich, a piece of fruit, two snacks and a drink.

You also need to present your Clubcard for the offer to work.

It’s running from:

  • Scotland 01/07/24-16/08/24
  • Northern Ireland 01/07/24-30/08/24
  • England and Wales 22/07/24-30/08/24

The offer runs from Monday to Friday from 1st July – 30th August 2024.

It won’t apply if you use your Blue Light Card discount at the same time.

TGI Fridays

Kids can eat free all day, every day at TGI Fridays.

You need to be a member of their loyalty scheme, Stripes, and then you get a free kid’s meal with any adult main purchased.

Brew Dog

This is for Scotland – Brewdog in England has not confirmed they are running the deal yet.

When an adult eats from the main menu, your child (aged under 13) can eat for free from the kid’s menu.

The offer is running from 28th June – 15th August in Scotland.

Eat out in the garden. Bring out a full tray of nice picnic food, a game or two and soft drinks plus two bottles of white wine for the grown ups. Consider adding in mini sausage rolls, a fruit salad, slices of cake and iced buns in order to make things easy. You could even aim to make a entire bunch of raspberry tarts, yummy cookies, scones, biscuits and cucumber sandwiches. Ginger beer makes a nice addition as a soft drink.

The kids can help you to bake colourful cakes in order to eat at the picnic on the day. Try not to have a odd bag of sweets however. Best of luck. Stuff the cake into a small tin or have plastic bowls to hand in any case here. Use clean napkins to contain the spills and clean up messes. Provide them with cutlery. Trays and positive spirit sure are handy. Smile. Relax. You can do this.

So are toys and books as a means of distraction. Buy a cheap camera to take a set of photos. Play other active games to try to use up their energy. Tire them all out in other words. Or you can even sit down at the garden table and play a fun round of timed board games. Create a typed list to refer back to. Look online or in the local town shops for your ideal options. Keep tabs on the score and remember why a timer device works well.

    Heya.
I did consider ordering wine and lunch at a local pub in order to start with. But after a day of thinking hard I decided to stick to other times of the week. It is cheaper to eat a quick dinner at a pub instead. That way we can have sips of free wine without being asked for identification. Plus I rarely eat lunch. A local pub in my area does a range of nice deals on the alcohol in question here and food for starters. Another nearby pub allows you to get a pub loyalty card and so on too. My other piece of sound advice is to call up or email all the pubs to find out what they can offer. Good luck.

Pubs are fun places. Seriously. Pay close and careful attention to the menu. A glass of nice wine and a quiet meal is romantic. If you are celebrating a birthday they may even bring a cake to your table for you.
